Russell Dale Wambold, 45, of Afton, passed away Friday, October 26, 1984 at Greater Community Hospital. He had been ill for three months.
Russell Dale Wambold was born May 6, 1939, in Winterset, the son of Elbert L. and Florence (Leach) Wambold. On Jan. 18, 1959, he married Sharon Arnold. They later divorced.
He was a longtime resident of Afton and Creston communities. He was an auto mechanic and a member of the Methodist Church and the Eagles Aerie 1398.
Mr. Wambold is survived by three sons, Rodney and Richard Wambold of Portland, Ore., and Ricky Wambold of Creston; a daughter, Cheryl Hribal of Creston; a granddaughter; his mother, Florence Wambold of Afton; five sisters, Deloris Dunkerson of Kansas City, Mo., Joan Wallace of Fontanelle, Kathaleen Tyler of Des Moines, Karen Jones of Afton and Sue Allard of Lorimor; and three brothers, Donald of Fontanelle, Larry of Des Moines and Rex of Van Meter.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Randy on Feb. 15, 1982.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home.
