Services for Clyde Wesley Watson, 85, Van Wert, who died at the Decatur County Hospital April 11, 1986, were held Tuesday, April 15, at the Van Wert United Methodist Church with the Rev. Leroy Perkins officiating. Burial was at the Van Wert Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 4, 1900 at Norwalk, the son of Clyde and Nancy Smith Watson. The family moved to Van Wert in 1910 and Mr. Watson married Margaret Jane Redman on Feb. 6, 1924. Mr. Watson was a farmer all his life, residing south of Van Wert since 1925.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Lowell of Des Moines, a daughter, Lois Eddy of Osceola; six grandchildren, including Dr. Michael Watson of Winterset; six great-grandchildren, including James Thomas Watson of Winterset; sisters, May Glasscock of Earlham and Berdena Bulkeley of Artesia, N.M.; brothers, Earl of Weldon and Orland of Leon.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.
