Lyle Mae Wasson, 90, of Russell died of congestive heart failure April 15, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, at Faith United Methodist Church in Russell with Pastor Larry Prosser officiating.
Lyla Wasson was born May 19, 1910, to William Albert and Martha Ellen (Johnston) Lytle of Macedonia. A graduate of Winterset High School, she attended State Teachers College. She married Ross Gerald Wasson on Dec. 26, 1933, in Princeton, Mo. A housewife, Lyla was a member of Farm Bureau, United Methodist Women and the Democratic Party.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.
She is survived by her husband, Ross, of Tipton, a daughter, Ellen Mae Fear (husband Glenn) of Tipton; a son, Gerald Wasson and Bobbie Phillips of Chariton; a siser, Roseann Hodges of LaFayette, Calif.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Fry Funeral Home in Tipton.
