Adah "Marie" Hartley, Orion, Ill.

Funeral services for Adah Marie Hartley, 88, were held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset on Mon., Feb. 22 with Father Frank Palmer officiating. Mrs. Hartley died February 18, 1993 at Illini Hospital in Silvis, Ill. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

She was born August 30, 1904, in Indianola to James and Mary (Graham) Stewart. She married Edward Hartley August 24, 1930, in Conception, Mo. A homemaker, she lived most of her life in Madison County. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Iowa State Federation of China Decorators, the AMO Club, the American Association of Retired People, and she organized the Unionettes 4-H Club. She was a member of the Altar Society of the St. Joseph Catholic Church where she attended.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Pauletti and husband, Jim, of Orion, Ill., and Agnes Steilen and husband Charles of Spokane, Wash.; one daughter-in-law, Rae Ann Hitchcock of Winterset; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to her church or the Winterset Community Educational Foundation.
