Ella Louise Harrell,78, of Osceola died of cancer Dec. 31, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 3, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Robb Bruns officiating. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola.

Ella Harrell was born April 22, 1924, in Winterset to Albert and Angela Mae (Preston) Libby. She received her education in the Madison County schools. On June 10, 1944, she was united in marriage to Clifford Eugene Harrell Jr. They lived in the Winterset community until 1959, when they moved to the Liberty community in Clarke County. Ella was employed by Robinson's Department Store in Osceola for many years, retiring in the early 1970s. She was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church and Liberty Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Francis Libby and Harold Libby; and a sister, Mary Rynearson.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford of Osceola; a daughter, Angela Putz of Kirby, Ark.; a son, Terry Harrell of Winterset; three sisters, Inez Harrell of Afton, and Ruth Bush and Betty Stephenson, both of Winterset; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
