Services for Verdia A. Gilbert Harper, 86, Lorimor, who died Aug. 6 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Monday, Aug. 10 at the Grace Baptist Church in Winterset with the Rev. Harold Constant officiating. Burial was at the Barney Cemetery.
Born on March 14, 1901 in Madison County, she was the daughter of Harris W. and Ellen Palmer Gilbert. She married John E. Harper on Oct. 6, 1919 in Winterset. Mrs. Harper was a housewife and a member of the Barney Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Dana, Don and John W., all of Lorimor; a sister, Grace Woods of Osceola; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, two brothers and a grandson.
