Thursday, April 9, 1931Death of Charles Guye
Charles Guye, a member of a pioneer Madison county family, died Thursday, April 2, following a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Guye was a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Guye and was born in this county in 1864. When a young man he went to Montana to reside. Later he went to Juneau, Alaska, where he spent many years. He returned to Winterset, in 1924, however, to assist with the care of his sister, Miss Mary Guye. Mr. Guye has been in poor health the past few years.
The Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Church of Christ, conducted his funeral services, held at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home on Saturday morning, April 4, at 10 o’clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. Mr. Guye is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elvia M. Gillespie of Penn township.
