Friday Rites For Cecil Hammond

Cecil Leonard Hammond of 224 S. Twelfth Ave., Winterset died Wednesday, May 7, at his home at the age of 75. Mr. Hammond, who had lived in Winterset most of his life, was a taxi driver here.

Born on July 30, 1904, at Albia, Mr. Hammond moved to Winterset about 70 years ago. He was the son of Ira D. and Mary Effie Hays Hammond.

Among the survivors are a sister, Mildred Fisher of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
