Mamie Hammans, Mt. Pleasant

Mrs. Mamie Dell Hammans, 88, died at the home of her daughter Elloise, Mrs. High Shiveley, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa on Wednesday August 1, 1984.

She was born July 3, 1896 at Winterset, the daughter of George C. and Ella Hampton Thomas. On Jan. 5, 1921, she was united in marriage to W. Howard Hammans who died April 9, 1963.

Mrs. Hammans was a former member of the Winterset Presbyterian church.

Surviving are three daughters, Elloise, the wife of the Rev. High Siveley, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Marjorie (Mrs. Charles Miller) of Houma, Louisiana, Belvah, Mrs. Dale Golding of the Philippines, son Wayne of Arcola, Virginia and a sister-in-law, Goldie Thomas of Greenfield, 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
