Calvin S. Weaver, 89, of Ames died July 19, 2000, at Karrington Cottages Nursing Home in Waterloo.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 22, at Middle River Primitive Baptist Church of rural Winterset with Elder Larry Pearl and Pastor Pat Sokol officiating. Burial was at Middle River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Calvin Weaver was born May 29, 1911, in Madison County to Charles M. and Nellie (Smith) Weaver. He married Neva Morley on Oct. 31, 1941. Having resided in Ames for most of his life, Calvin, a jeweler and watchmaker, was proprietor of Weaver's Jewelers in Ames.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
He is survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; a nephew, Jerry Tarkett of Waterloo; a cousin, Marjorie Brokaw of Winterset; and several great-nieces, great-nephewss and great-great-nieces.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
