Wednesday, June 17, 1970Mrs. Christiana L. Thompson, a resident of Madison county since 1901, died Wednesday, June 10, at her home in Winterset. She was 91 years of age.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Washington county, Kansas, where she was born Dec. 11, 1878, a daughter of Elisha J. and Tobitha Reigle Eggleston. She came to Madison county in 1901, and moved into Winterset in 1924.
As a young woman she was married to Richard Peed. Her second marriage, which occurred Dec. 20, 1905, was to Geo. Thompson. His death occurred in 1965.
For many years she was employed as a restaurant cook in Winterset.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by a son, Daniel Peed of Winterset; and four sisters, Frances McDonald and Mary Clark of Winterset, Mahala McDonald of Colorado, and Lovisa Gentry of St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church here. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
