Helen Hamilton Rites On Friday

Helen Hamilton died Monday, October 8, at the Methodist Medical center in Des Moines at the age of 84. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. this Friday, October 12, at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will follow at the Winterset Cemetery. Rev. Bob Hays of Des Moines will officiate.

Mrs. Hamilton was born on March 15, 1895 at Winterset. Her parents were George and Laura Young Young. Her husband Murl died in 1962 in Winterset.

Mrs. Hamilton left Winterset about 30 years ago to reside in Des Moines. She had spent the last 17 years in California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one son Archie.

Survivors include two daughters, Lillian Stephenson of Des Moines and Betty Nord of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons, Burton and Merle, both of Des Moines; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Coordinator's note: Buried in Primitive Baptist instead of the stated Winterset Cemetery.
