Mrs. Clyde Hamilton Dies in Michigan

Mrs. Clyde V. Hamilton, a well known Madison county resident for many years, died last Friday, Dec. 29, at Kalamazoo, Mich., where she had been making her home with her son, Francis Hamilton, since 1971. She was 81 years of age.

Mrs Hamilton was a native of Bedford, where she was born Feb. 2, 1891. She was the former Allie M. Skinner, daughter of Charles and Mary Judy Skinner.

She was married to Clyde V. Hamilton at Bedford on March 4, 1912. They moved to Madison county about 1948, and engaged in farming here for many years. In 1967 they retired and moved into Winterset. Mr. Hamilton died Jan. 29, 1971, after which she moved to Kalamazoo to be with her son.

Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the Pitzer United Presbyterian church.

She is survived by four sons, Joseph W. Hamilton of Jackson, Mich., Kenneth V. Hamilton of Atlanta, Ga., Clyde J. Hamilton of Liberty, Mo., and Francis P. Hamilton of Kalamazoo, Mich. She also leaves 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Milo Skinner of Saskatchewan, Canada.

One son, Gene L. Hamilton, preceded her in death in 1945.

Funeral services were to be held at 1:30 p.m. this Wednesday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Newton Coughenour, pastor of the First United Methodist church of this community. Burial was to be made in Oakwood cemetery at Casey.
