Winterset Madisonian - June 2, 1965

Mrs. J. M. E. Creger, member of a well-known Winterset family, died Saturday, May 29, at a nursing home here. She was 94 years of age.

Mrs. Creger was a life-time resident of Madison county. She was the former Florence B. Boling, daughter of Edward and Bessie Wilson Boling, and was born here Dec. 5, 1870. She was married in 1889 to J. M. E. Creger. Their married life was spent in this community.

Mrs. Creger was a member of the First United Presbyterian church in Winterset. She was a member of the Woman's Relief corps, and a charter member of the Legion auxilliary unit here.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1950, and by a son, Gaile Creger, in 1937. She leaves a son, Fonda W. Creger of Winterset, four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home here, conducted by the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor ot the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
