John Farr Dies After Week's Illness: Was in Business There 35 Years
John Farr, prominent merchant, died at his home here, Wednesday morning about three o'clock. He was 72 years of age and had been poorly for the past two weeks, but had been confined to his home, for only the past week.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church, in Peru, Friday afternoon, December 13th.
Mr. Farr has made his home in this community for a number of years, and for the past thirty-five years has owned an implement and harness business here.
He is survived by his wife and their five children: Mrs. Charles Joy of Perry, Mrs. Dale Simmons of Winterset, Mrs. Leo Hammand of Peru, and Velda and Gene at home. He also leaves a brother, Walter Farr of Peru, and a sister, Mrs. Ella Barnard of Cedar.
