Mrs Pearl Welch, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1969, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 80 years of age.
Mrs. Welch spent her life south of Winterset. She was born there July 13, 1889, the youngest child of Henry and Nancy Macumber. She was the granddaughter of John Macumber, a pioneer in the Ord community. She attended the Ord Christian Union church in her early years, and later the First Christian church in Winterset.
She was married Feb. 22, 1910, to Pearl S. Welch. They lived on a farm in Walnut township until his death in 1951. Since then she had made her home with her son, Wano Welch, also of this community.
In addition to the son, she leaves six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
