Services for Jack L. Strable, 49, Martensdale, who was dead on arrival at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines following a heart attack, were held Tuesday, Dec. 20 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Martensdale. Burial was at Blair Chapel Cemetery in Madison County.

Born in Martensdale, Mr. Strable graduated from Martensdale High School in 1951 and served in the Amry from 1956 to 1957. He was a former contractor but since 1971 had been in the auto parts business, owning and operating the American Parts store in Winterset since 1977.

Survivors are his wife, Ialeen; a son, Patrick of Winterset; daughters, Kelly of Huxley and Sherry of Martensdale; his mother, Mae, of Prole; a brother, Frank of Wick, Iowa; sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Newhouse of Marion and Mrs. Sue Groh of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and two infant sisters.
