Robert Preston Weesner, 72, died Feb. 7, 2003, of cancer at Adel Acres Care Cener.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 10, at the Dexter Methodist Church with the Rev. Kirk Seagren officiating. Burial was at Dexter Cemetery

Bob Weesner was born Sept. 13, 1930, to Rolland and Lula (Sanborn) Weesner of rural Stuart. A 1948 graduate of Dexter High School, he attended Drake University in Des Moines, graduating in 1952 with a degree in pharmaceutical science. He briefly worked at a pharmacy in Red Oak before returning to Dexter to work for Isenberg Pharmacy, of which he eventually became a partner. In 1976, he purchased the pharmacy, which he owned and operated until his death.

On Oct. 19, 1952, he married Marjorie McKenzie at the Baxter Congregational Church. Bob was a member of Adel Masonic Lodge AM & FM (Past Master of the Masons), Winterset Eastern Star Lodge 80 (Past Worthy Patron), Des Moines Consistory, Des Moines Za Ga Zig Shrine and Dexter Methodist Church, where he often served as lay minister. He also was a board member of the Dexter Round House and Dexter Museum and past president of the Des Moines Philatelic Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Jane Weesner; and a brother, Max Weesner.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Dexter; two daughters, Jo Ellen Cjuhajewski of Kalamazoo, Mich., and June Janssen of Dexter; a brother, Jack Weesner of Waukee; and four grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Dexer and Earlham.
