Stella Edna, daughter of Solomon and Mary A. Barnard, was born in Madison county, Iowa, June 12, 1871 and departed this life at her home near Richland, Mo., May 15, 1925, aged 53 years, 11 months and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Ira M. Quick, Aug. 12, 1909.

In Decmeber, 1913, she moved with her husband to their farm near Norwalk, where they resided five years moving from there to Richland, Mo., where they lived at the time of her death.

She united with the Church of Christ at Barney in 1901, and later transferred her membership to the Church of Christ at Richland. She was a true Christian, ever ready to lend a hand for the uplift of humanity; her faith in Christ, her Savior, was a source of strength throughout her life.

She was one of Madison county's successful school teachers, having taught for many years in Madison and Clarke counties.

She was taken ill with spinal meningitis about Jan. 1st and was a constant sufferer. She told her friends and relatives many times during her illness she was ready, willing and anxious to go and said she was going to meet her mother, whom she had not seen for more than 20 years.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, a stepson, George Quick, of Chicago, two sisters, Sadie L., who made her home with her; Mrs. Bertha Gibbons of Barney; two brothers, Charles N. of Oskaloosa and George A. of Jefferson City, Mo.; her father, mother, three sisters and one brother having preceded her in death, one sister, Mrs. J. H. Schaff of Winterset, died April 14, 1914.

The body was brought to Lorimor May 17th, and was taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Ira Gibbons.

Funeral services were conducted at the church in Barney, Wednesday afternoon by Rev. C. N. Odell and the remains were laid to rest in the Barney cemetery.
