Charles Gray, Jr., St. Charles

Charles Elmer Gray, Jr., 60 of St. Charles, died of a heart attack Dec. 2, 1996 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were Dec. 5 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. The Rev. Ed Poston of St. Charles officated the services. The cremains will be buried at the St. Charles Cemetery at a later date.He was born in Murray on Jan. 19, 1936 to Charles Elmer Sr., and Ruby (Porter) Gray. He married Beth Austin on Oct. 27, 1962 in Trenton, Mo. He had attended Murray schools and grade school at Doyle #7. He was a trucker for I.T.E.C. He was a salesman for power line supplies and had worked doing tree service and power line installation. Mr. Gray had also demonstrated rope making at the Madison County Covered Bridge Festival.

He was preceded in death by his mother; one sister-in-law; and one brother-in-law.

Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, C. E. Gray III of Grand River; one daughter, Tasha White and husband Robert of Des Moines; his father of Leon; two brothers, Danny Gray and wife Caroline of Leon and David Gray and wife Rea of Grand River; one sister, Joan Waite of Arispie; and two grandchildren.
