NANNIE GRAVES DIED ON SUNDAY

Native of Virginia, Lived In Madison County Since 1904

Mrs. Nannie M. Graves, a resident of Madison county since 1904, died Sunday, March 1, at a Winterset nursing home where she had been a patient for the past five years. She was 85 years of age.

Mrs Graves was a native of Virginia, where she was born near Front Royal on July 28, 1878. She was the former Nannie Mable Biggs. She moved with her family to Illinois in 1884, living near Toulon. There she was married on Feb. 26, 1896, to John Graves. They came to Madison county in 1904, and this had been her home since that time. Her husband and a son, J. Earl Graves, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Zion Federated Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edith Haines and Mrs. Mary Ham, both of Winterset; seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Will Ripsch of Pontiac, Ill., and Mrs. Fred Schulz of Peoria, Ill., and a half-sister, Mrs. Ray Eldridge of Peoria.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home conducted by the Rev. Earl Travis. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
