CLARA L. WHETSTONE, Des Moines

Clara L. Whetstone, 71, died of heart and kidney ailments Wed., Dec. 25, 1991, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines. Services were held December 30 at Visitation Catholic Church, of which she was a member.

A lifelong Des Moines resident, she retired in 1985 after 45 years with the state's Department of Health.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Boshard of Hartsburg, Mo.; a son, Dan of Des Moines; three sisters, Margaret Alexander of West Field, N.J., and Augustina Schneider and Marie Barber, both of Des Moines; three brothers, Ned Barber of Winterset and Alex Barber and Nick Barber, both of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

Burial was at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
