Glenn Athur Wheeler, 87, died June 20, 2004, at SunBridge Retirement Center in Nampa, Idaho.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Patterson United Methodist Church. There will be a private burial of the cremains.
Glenn Wheeler was born Dec. 9, 1916, near Terril. He was a 1937 graduate of Patterson High School. On Oct. 31, 1941, he married Georgia B. Taylor. Glenn had managed stores for Easter in Norwalk, Granger and Baxter and later bought the Baxter store. In 1958, he moved to Idaho and worked as a meat cutter, then as a patrolman for the U.S. Department of Energy, retiring in 1976. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Hawaiian Islands, New Guinea and the Philippine Islands.
He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters and one great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia, of Nampa, Idaho; one son, Lee Allan Wheeler of Richland, Wash.; one daughter, Carolyn Elroy of Kenner, La.; and four grandchildren.
