Edna Faye Wharff, 94, of St. Charles, died of pneumonia Nov. 24, 1996 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be today, Nov. 27 at ll a.m. at the St. Charles Parish Church. The Rev. Ed Poston will officiate the services and burial will be at the St. Charles Cemetery.
She was born March 26, 1902 near Truro to Theodore and Lillie (Foreman) Duncan. She married Cecil Wharff on July 4, 1919 in Leon. She was a homemaker and a cook at I-35 school system. She was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Services at the St. Charles Parish Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers; three sisters; and one grandson.
Surviving relatives include one daughter, Thelma Downs and husband Dwight of St. Charles; one son, Cecil Wharff, Jr. and wife Sally of Norwalk; one sister, Ruby Carlstedt of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
