Well-Known Missouri Editor Had Fatal Heart Attack Tuesday
Robert Goshorn, well-known Missouri newspaper publisher and radio station excecutive, and former Winterset resident, died Tuesday night at his home in Jefferson City, Mo.
Mr. Goshorn had been ill the past year and died of a heart attack. He was 62 years old.
At the time of his death, he was owner and publisher of the morning and evening daily newspapers in Jefferson City, and also owned and managed the radio station there. Jefferson City is the capital of Missouri.
The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Goshorn, he was born in Wintlerset on May 8, 1890. He attended the Winterset schools and graduated from high school here.
His father for many years owned and published the Winterset News, weekly newspaper here.
Mr. Goshorn is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Frank Handy of Jefferson City; a grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Horace Tate of Des Moines, Mrs. John Wintrode and Mrs. O. D. Wilson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one half-brother, Arthur Goshorn, Jr., of Oskaloosa, Ia.
Funeral services for Mr. Goshorn will be held Friday at Jefferson City, Mo.
