JOSEPH McKINNEY Of Waukee Dies

Joseph J. McKinney of Waukee, a native of the Churchville community, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 1969, at a hospital in Iowa City. He was 58 years of age.

Mr. McKinney was born near Churchville, a son of Earl J. and Anna Weil McKinney. His early life was spent in that community. Shortly after his marriage he moved to Waukee where the remainder of his life was spent.

Mr. McKinney was a carpenter by trade. He was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic church in that community, and of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, the former Irma Hinkson. He also leaves three children, Durwin McKinney of the state of Nevada, Mrs. Sharon DeCamp of Adel, and Dennis McKinney of Waukee; in addition to eight brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ella Forret of Booneville, Hubert McKinney of Des Moines, Mrs. Anna King of Winterset, Mrs. Rosemary Penick of St. Charles, Leonard McKinney of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Theresa Hart of Longmont, Colo., John McKinney of Dallas Center, and Mrs. Leona Dittmer of Stuart.

Rosary was recited this Tuesday evening for Mr. McKinney at the Fisher Funeral home in Adel. Requiem Mass was held this Wednesday from St. Boniface Catholic church in Waukee, with burial in St. Patrick's cemetery.
