Harold Gordon Dies at Age 75

Harold D. Gordon, a retired Winterset businessman, who dealt in wool and fur buying for over 50 years, died Tuesday August 21, 1973 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was 75 years of age.

Mr. Gordon was born May 9, 1898 in Winterset, the son of Charles W. and Anna Burns Gordon. He was married to Mildred Sloan on April 1, 1918 in Des Moines. Mr. Gordon was a lifetime resident of Winterset.

Surviving Mr. Gordon is his wife, Mildred of Winterset; a son, Bill Gordon of Winterset; three grandchildren, Larry Gordon, Mrs. Dixie DeCarlo, Mrs. Kathy Hood and four great grandchildren.

Also surviving is a brother, Charles of Winterset and a sister, Mrs. Madolyn Morrissey of Winterset.

Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 23 at 1:30 p.m. from the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, the Rev. Walter Samp officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
