MAURICE LYNCH, Cumming

Maurice Michael Lynch, 80, of rural Cumming, died May 22, 1994 of Parkinsons Disease complications at the Winterset Care Center. Funeral services were May 28, 1994 at the St. Patrick's Irish Settlement with burial at the St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Cemetery.

He was born in Madison County and was a lifetime resident. He married Alice Miller in 1938 and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church; Church Trustee and Parish Council Member; Lee Township Trustee; a member of the Board of Madison County Historical Society; a member of the Knights of Columbus in Des Moines and previous charter member of Knights of Columbus at Indianola; and he had served on the area school board.

Surviving relatives include his wife; three sons, Maurice F. Lynch of Prole, Thomas M. Lynch of West Des Moines, and Robert J. Lynch of Des Moines; one sister, Margaret Weil of rural Cumming; three daughters, Mary Lou Lynch of Omaha, Neb., Janet Schissel of Bloomington, Minn., and Helen M. Butcher of Martensdale; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
