Requiem Mass was held Tuesday morning, May 4,from St. Patrick's church in Lee township for James Francis Lynch.
Mr. Lynch died May 1, 1965, at Mercy hospital in Des Moines after a five-day illness at the age of 64. He was a life-long resident of the Irish Settlement in northeast Madison County.
The son of Maurice and Catherine Gill Lynch, he was born in Lee township on Aug. 7, 1900. He was married to Susie McLaughlin on July 28, 1925.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Patrick. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Francis, John and Donald, all of the home community; 16 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Watts of Winterset, Mrs. Margaret Weil of Lee township; Mrs. Lucy L'Estrange and Mrs. Marie McLaughlin, both of Des Moines; and one brother, Maurice Lynch of Lee township.
Officiating at the service Tuesday morning was Fr. Daniel Clarke of St. Parick's church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
