JOSEPH H. WALTZ KILLED IN CRASH

Webster Township Resident Died Saturday in Adair County

Joseph H. Waltz, a well known young man in this community for many years, was killed Saturday when the car he was driving went out of control and crashed on a secondary road eight miles southeast of Greenfield.

Mr. Waltz was 34 years of age at his death. He was born at Stuart March 26, 1932, a son of Joseph R. and Mildred Freiberg Waltz. Most of his life had been spent as a resident of Webster township in this county. In recent years he had been employed as parts manager for the Morrissey Implement company of Winterset.

He was a veteran of the U.S. armed forces, and a member of the Winterset post, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church at Winterset.

Mr. Waltz was married at Winterset in 1952 to Dawn Wambold.

He is survived by four sons, Michael, Coy, Kevin and David; two daughters, Bingta and Cae; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Waltz of Webster township his grandfather, H. N. Freiberg of Winterset; three sisters, Mrs. Lilah Baker of Omaha, Sister Mary Karen, order of the B.V.M., of Sioux City, and Mrs. Susie McCauley of Winterset; and a brother, Dennis Waltz of Des Moines.

Rosary services were held Monday evening from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, with requiem Mass Tuesday from St. Joseph's Catholic church, celebrated by the pastor, Msgr. John W. Higgins.

Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery, with military honors by the Winterset post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
