Honor Hodson

Near the hour of midnight August 30, 1927, occurred the death of Honor Hodson after a lingering illness of many months. She was born in La Clade County, Missouri, May 10, 1848, being 79 years 3 months and ten days of age, and was one of a family of eight children. In 1852 the family moved to Dallas County, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. In 1883 she was married to George A. Hodson. To this union were born two children: Blanche and Veda, both of whom with the husband have gone before.

The family moved to the present home in February, 1895 and have since resided there.

Mrs. Hodson was devoted to her home and children and was a great lover of birds and flowers and everything in nature. During her earlier years she did much in caring for the sick and was a kind neighbor and friend.

She leaves to mourn her loss two brothers John and Ferd Bilderback, several nephews and nieces and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the home wtih Rev. Bock officiating. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery.

Note: The spelling of her first name on her headstone is Honer.
