NATIVE OF PITZER COMMUNITY DIES

Mrs. Alex C. Gibson, a native of the Pitzer community in Madison county, died May 31 at her home near Waterloo where she had lived for many years. She was 66 years of age. She had been in poor health the last four years.

Mrs. Gibson was the former Janette Spence, daughter of David and Elizabeth Thompson Spence. She was born June 30, 1898, near Pitzer and lived there until her marriage to Mr. Gibson.

She is survived by her husband; a sister, Vasha of Arlington, Va., and a brother, David Spence of Oelwein.

Funeral services were held June from the Barclay United Presbyterian church. The Rev. W. C. Porter, former pastor of the Pitzer church, assisted with the service. Burial was made at Memorial Park cemetery in Waterloo.
