Mrs. Harley Armstrong of Des Moines, a former resident of the Winterset community, died last Friday, Nov. 27, at Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, after an extended illness. She was 41 years of age.

Mrs. Armstrong was the former Eva J. Johnston, daughter of James and Agnes Reynolds Johnston of Winterset. She was born April 28, 1929, at Tingley. She was married at Winterset to Harley Armstrong, who survives her.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Johnston of Winterset; two sons, James Armstrong of Grimes and Timothy Armstrong of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Michael Daugherty of Des Moines; three grandchildren; three brothers, Donald and Delbert Johnston of Winterset and Duane Johnston of Council Bluffs; and five sisters, Mrs. Roberta Todd of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Alberta McCauley, Mrs. Anna Collins, Mrs. Lucy Smith and Mrs. Sharon Hope, all of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Monday from the First Christian church in Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur, and the Rev. Henry Pierce. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
