ELMER WHITE, Runnells

Elmer E. Whie, 93, of Runnells died of pneumonia Dec. 16, 2002, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Runnells Christian Church. Burial was a Lowman Cemetery, Runnells.

Elmer White was born Feb. 15, 1909, to Bart and Bessie (Goode) White of Farrar. He was educated in the Farrar School District. He and his wife, Beatrice, were married on March 21, 1931. Elmer, a retired farmer, spent most of his life in the Runnells area. He also had resided south of Murray, where he farmed from 1974 to 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Lula Barr and Hattie Maxwell; and two brothers, Ben White and Ralph White.

He is survived by four sons, Larry White of Truro, Ed White and Roger White, both of Des Moines, and Martin White of Winterset; a sister, Lenora DeReus of DeSoto; three brothers, Ordie White and Robert White, both of Runnells, and Byron White of Indianola; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and seven greaat-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle.
