Edna Garrison, Winterset

Edna Bessie Garrison, 83, of Winterset, died of a renal ailment Aug. 26, 1996 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. Visitation is today from noon-8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Funeral services will be held Aug. 29 at 10:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, and the Rev. Bob Epperson will officiate. Burial will follow at the Penn Center Cemetery in Madison County.

She was born in Eunice, Mo. on Jan. 19, 1913 to Fred Sr. and Nora (Westerman) Sirdoreus. On Dec. 20, 1935, she married Jack Garrison in Earlham. She was a homemaker and a resident of Winterset for nearly 50 years after coming from Missouri. She was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons; six brothers; and three sisters.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Paul Garrison and wife Shirley of Denver, Colo., and Charles Garrison and wife Phyllis of Winterset; one daughter, Dorothy Garrison of Winterset; two brothers, Fred Sirdoreus, Jr. of Newton and Harold Sirdoreus of Grandview, Mo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Care Center North Activity Fund.
