VERNON WHITE, Winterset

Vernon White, 85, of Winterset, died of complications of surgery on May 18, 1995 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were May 22 at the Worthington United Methodist Church in Madison County. The Rev. Harold Koughn officiated the services and burial was at the Worthington Church Cemetery.

He was born in Madison County on April 12, 1910 to Willis and Harriet (Simpson) White. He married Lucile Olson on Sept. 29, 1934 in Winterset. He was a retired road maintenance worker for the Madison County Secondary Roads where he had worked for over 20 years. He had also worked as a grocery clerk for United Food Market. He was a lifetime resident of Madison County and a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church in Madison County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; one brother and three sisters.

Surviving relatives include his wife and one son, Rex White of Cherokee.
