Wednesday, June 13, 1979Funeral services for Esther Julia Meyer, 76, formerly of Winterset, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at Boxholm, Iowa, with burial at the Renner Cemetery there. A memorial service was also held at Clay Center, Neb., Friday morning. Mrs. Meyer died Tuesday, June 5, in Hastings, Neb.
The daughter of Julius and Julia Rohrer Alberding, she was born on September 9, 1902, near Clay Center, Neb. She attended Westman College at LeMars for three years, majoring in vocal music and piano.
For 19 years she was organist for the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset. On August 10, 1937, she was married to Irwin Meyer of Boxholm.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Floyd Alberding, and a stepdaughter.
Survivors include two sons, William Meyer of Winterset and Eugene Meyer of Lynn Haven, Fla.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Hubby and Mrs. Avis Duehring of Ogden; a sister, Mrs. Mable Sundling of Hastings, Neb.; a brother, Reuben Alberding of Hastings, Neb.; 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
