Gladys Gamble, St. Charles

Services for Gladys Gamble, 83, St. Charles, who died Sept. 19 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Sept. 23, at the St. Charles Parish with the Rev. Chet Waterman and the Rev. Harold Schirm officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.

Born in Madison County on Oct. 26, 1902, she was the daughter of Stephen and Elsie Tidrick Hays. On March 20, 1922, she was married in Winterset to Cleo Gamble.

She spent most of her life in St. Charles, was a housewife and a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include sons, Robert of St. Charles, Wilbur of West Des Moines, John of Urbandale, Jim of Piedmont, Okla.; Donald of Oklahoma City and Raymond of St. Charles; daughters, Edythe Johnston, Helen Howard, Delores Gamble, all of St. Charles, Marjorie Seward of Thornton, Colo., Jeanne White of Truro, Dorothy Neal of Spring Hill and Patricia Reeves of Osage Beach, Mo.; 30 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a grandchild, two brothers and one sister.
