1967RIGOBERT GAEKLE DIES IN OSKALOOSA
Rigobert A. Gaekle, member of a formerly well known Winterset family, died last Thursday, Sept. 26, at a hospital in Oskaloosa. He had moved to Oskaloosa from Winterset in 1944.
Mr. Gaekle was born in Winterset Jan. 4, 1890, and was 77 years of age at his death.
He served in Winterset's Company A on the Mexican border in 1916, and in the U.S. navy during World War I. In Oskaloosa he worked as an electrician, and was a member of the Masonic lodge.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Malcom Vedane of Des Moines; two grandchildren and a sister, Louise Gaekle of Muscatine.
Funeral services were held Thursday from the Powers Funeral home in Oskaloosa, with the Rev. Dr. Merrill D.Summerbell in charge. Burial was made in Forest cemetery there.
