Louise Gaekle, Muscatine

Louise M. Gaekle, 95, a former Winterset resident, died in Muscatine on Nov. 17.

Services were held at a funeral home in Muscatine on Nov. 20 with the Rev. Paul Williamson officiating. A committal service and burial was held at the Winterset cemetery with Dr. Paul M. Hann officiating.

Miss Gaekle was born Aug. 29, 1892 at Winterset, a daughter of Andrew and Magdelena Huglin Gaekle. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, PEO, Ethics Club, Business and Professional Women and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Drake University and received her masters degree from the University of Iowa. She had retired as a professor at Muscatine Community College where she taught for many years.

Survivors include a nephew, George Gaekle, Modesto, Calif.; three nieces, Mary Lou Vedane , Des Moines; and Marjorie Taylor and Dolores Bradford, both of St. Joseph, Mo.
