Wednesday, September 9, 1970Mrs. Myrtle Kate Beverlin of Truro, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Thursday, Sept. 3, at Madison Manor in Winterset. She was 92 years of age.
Mrs. Beverlin was a daughter of Charles and Margaret Clark. She was born Feb. 23, 1878, and spent her life in the Peru and Truro communities.
She was married Dec. 31, 1899, at Peru, to Omer P. Beverlin. She was a member of the Peru Methodist church.
She is survived by eight children, as follows: Corwin J. Beverlin of Peru, Mrs. Lorraine Wilson of Polson, Mont., Carol Beverlin of Peru, Robert Beverlin of Peru, Mrs. Lois Henneman of Malta, Mont., Mrs. Reva Thomas of Van Nuys, Calif., and Mrs. Bernie Freeman of Truro, and Jim Beverlin of Sigourney.
She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Richard Hempenius. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Rev. Richard Hempenius conducted funeral services Sunday, September 6 for Myrtle Kate Beverlin, 92, who died Thursday, September 3, at the Madison Manor Nursing Home in Winterset, Iowa. Services were held at the Kale Funeral Home with Interment in Peru Cemetery, Peru, Iowa.
Myrtle Kate Beverlin was born February 23, 1878, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Robinson Clark in Peru, Iowa. She attended the Madison County schools. She was married December 31, 1899 to Omer Perry Beverlin and to this union nine children were born. The lived in the Peru and Truro community all their married life. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Peru.
Surviving relatives include her children: Corwin J. Beverlin and wife, Stina of Peru; Mrs. Lorene Wilson and husband, Ted of Polson, Montana; Carroll and wife, Irene of Peru; Robert and wife, Wilma of Peru; Mrs. Lois Henneman and husband, Ray of Malta, Montana; Mrs. Reva Thomas and husband, Tommy of Van Nuys, California; Mrs. Bernie Freeman and husband, Lester of Truro; Jim and wife, Elaine of Sigourney; one daughter-in-law, Anna Beverlin of Topeka, Kansas; 18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Omer in 1948, one son, Dale and five sisters.
