MAX WHITLOW, Winterset

Max J. Whitlow, 82, of Winterset, died May 9, 1996 at the Des Moines General Hospital. Funeral services were May 13 at the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles. Burial was at the Blair Chapel Cemetery in Madison County.

He was born in Milo and married Helen Whitlow. He had been a resident of Winterset since 1979. He had farmed in the St. Charles area and owned his own gravel rock truck. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles.

Surviving relatives include his wife; three sons, Robert Whitlow of Babbit, Minn., Alvin Whitlow of Des Moines and Victor Whitlow of Winterset; three daughters, Twyla Harvey of Norwalk, Donna Whitlow of Winterset, and Mary Whitlow of Las Vegas, Nev., three brothers, Dwight Whitlow of Blair, Minn., Raymond Whitlow of Hemet, Calif., and H. Frank, Jr., of Moline, Ill.; three sisters, Marjorie Feight of Hemet, Calif., Margerette Nightengale of Aledo, Ill., and Maxine Whitley of Corydon; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
