Doris Butterfield Dies At 39 Years
Madison County Resident Past Nine Years is Leukemia Victim

Mrs. Glen Butterfield of near Peru died Friday, Jan. 14 at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, at the age of 39 years. Death was attributed to leukemia.

Mrs. Butterfield was the former Doris Mildred Darr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Darr. She was born Dec. 1, 1915, at Palmyra, in Warren county.

She was married to Glen Butterfield in 1943. They had moved to their farm southeast of Winterset nine years ago.

Mrs. Butterfield is survived by her husband; two children, Ruth Ann and Gerry Glen; her father and mother; a sister, Mrs. Gladys McReynolds of Palmyra; and three brothers, Guy Darr of Evening Shade, Ark., Charles Darr of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dale Darr of New Orleans, La.

Funeral services were held from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset Monday, conducted by the Rev. Gilbert Cook. Burial was made in the Indianola cemetery.
