John Francis, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Francis of Des Moines was buried in Des Moines on Sunday. His remains were accorded military horors, as he was a member of Company B., 168th Infantry, losing his life on July 26, 1918, in the Chateau Thierry drive. The family lived in Madison county for years, on a Penn township farm. The deceased attended high school in Earlham and was well known in Winterset.
