September 16, 1970Mrs. Harley Oglesbee of near Thayer died at her home there Friday, Sept. 11. She was 55 years of age.
Mrs. Oglesbee was a native of Polk county, where she was born at Altoona on Jan. 16, 1914. She was the former Rejina I. Fortune, daughter of John and Maude Mowry Fortune. Her life was spent in Polk, Madison and Union counties.
She was married here April 12, 1931, to Harley Oglesbee, who survives her. She also leaves two sons, Dean Oglesbee of West Des Moines, and Robert Oglesbee of Thayer; a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Mays of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; a brother, Gaylord Fortune of Geneseo, Ill.; three sisters and a half sister, Mrs. Iva Banks of Lorimor, Mrs. Pauline Barker of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Lorraine Faux of Des Moines, and Mrs. Pearl Quillan of Geneseo, Ill.
Funeral services were held Monday at Murray, conducted by the Rev. James Seibert. Burial was made in King cemetery in Madison county.
