FREDERICK W. MEYER, Tucson

Frederick W. Meyer, 75, of Tucson, Ariz., died of a heart attack Feb. 19, 2005.

A memorial celebration service was held Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Sahuaro Baptist Church in Tucson. Burial was at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

Fred Meyer was born Feb. 21, 1929, in Van Meter. He began his career in the grocery and restaurant management business. Later, he and his wife began their entrepreneurial phase, starting their own businesses in the health food and wig/hair salon industries. Also, for many years, Fred worked at Lear Jet in Tucson, retiring from Bombardier in 2002. He had been a resident of Tucson since 1979.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, of Tucson; four daughters, Karla, Trina, Lori and Janine; one son, David; four siblings, Marjorie, Carroll, Barbara and Karen; and 17 grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by East Lawn Palms Mortuary in Tucson.
