CECIL WHITED, Creston

Cecil L. Whited, 78, of Creston, died Dec. 14, 1994 at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. Funeral services were Dec. 17, at the First Christian Church in Creston. The Rev. Robert L. Pickerell officiated with burial at the Graceland Cemetery in Creston.

He was born Jan. 11, 1916 in Knowlton, Iowa to Andrew J. and Alice Flora (Conley) Whited. He married Ethel L. Cole in Mt. Ayr on March 3, 1938. He was a lifetime resident of Iowa. He had worked 22 years for Creston City Water. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Creston. He served as staff Sgt. in the Army Air Corps during WW. II.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Charlotte Meyer and husband William of Winterset, and Shirley Whited of Des Moines; one son, Gary Whited and wife Becky of Seymour, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Whited and Helen Knight, both of Creston; one brother-in-law, George Cole and wife Ruby of Seligman, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
