Gayle L. Wight, 88, of Rock Island, Ill., died Dec. 3, 1995 at Oak Glen Nursing Home in Coal Valley, Ill. Graveside services were Dec. 8 at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Rock Island, Ill.
He was born Sept. 17, 1907 in DeSoto to Frank and Blanche (Donaldson) Wight. He married Evelyn Breeding July 16, 1933 in Winterset. He was a graduate of Iowa State University and was a self-employed food broker in the dairy industry. He was a member of the former Central Presbyterian Church; Board of Trustees and Optimist Club in Rock Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Janet Lester of Wautauga, Texas and Evelyn Morrissey of Vernon, Texas; two sons, Richard Wight and wife Jeannie of Palmyra, Va., and Stephen Wight of Rock Island, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
