Winterset Madisonian - September 16, 1970
Mrs. Fred H. Wilkinson of Winterset, a resident of Madison county for 81 years, died Wednesday, Sept. 9 at her home here. She was 88 years of age.
Mrs. Wilkinson was a native of Missouri, where she was born in Worth county on Oct. 20, 1883. She was the former Mary Elizabeth Cridling, daughter of John and Laura Ann Evans Cridling.
When she was 5 years of age she came with her family to this community, and was married here on Sept. 24, 1902, to Fred H. Wilkinson, who survives her.
She was a member of the Zion Community circle for many years.
In addition to her husband, she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Hugo Howell of Cumming and Mrs. George Macumber and Mrs. W. Ed Clark of Winterset. She also leaves 11 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church.
Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
