Floyd Fitzgerald, Osage Beach, Mo

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at United Methodist Church in Truro for Floyd Fitzgerald, a former Madison county resident who died Sunday, Jan. 24, at Lake Ozark General Hospital in Osage Beach, Mo. He was 67 years old.

Born July 11, 1914, in Sigswick, Alberta, he was the son of John and Maybelle Humes Fitzgerald.

He attended Iowa and Nebraska schools and in December of 1935 married Lucille Binder in Winterset.

Mr. Fitzgerald drove a stock truck and was later a shop foreman for an electrical equipment company, retiring in 1967.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Osage Beach; a son Joel also of Osage Beach; 2 sisters, Isabelle Barber of West Des Moines and Fern Schaffer of Eldon, Mo.; 2 brothers, Leon Fitzgerald of Winterset and Orville Fitzgerald of Truro; and 6 grandchildren.

Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Missouri Man Rites in Truro

Floyd Ross Fitzgerald, 67, of Osage Beach, Missouri, died at the Lake Ozark General Hospital Sunday, January 24, 1982. Services were held from the Truro United Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 27, with the Rev. Robert Crum of Des Moines officiating at the 1:30 p.m. rites. Interment was in St. Charles Cemetery.

Floyd Ross Fitzgerald was born July 11, 1914 in Sigswick, Alberta, Canada, son of John Fitzgerald and Maybelle Humes Fitzgerald. He attended schools in Iowa and Nebraska and in December 1935, was married to Lucille Binder in Winterset. One child was born to this union.

Before retiring in 1967, he was a truck driver, working out of Peru and was a shop foreman for an electric equipment company for 15 years after that. He was affiliated with the Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Survivors include his wife Lucille of Osage Beach, son Joel Fitzgerald and wife, Karen, of Osage Beach, six grandchildren, Colleen, Kathleen, Shannon, Melinda and Joel Jr. of Osage Beach and Kelly Keeney of Camdenton, Missouri, two sisters, Isabelle Barber of West Des Moines and Fern Schaffer of Eldon, Missouri and two brothers, Leon Fitzgerald of Winterset and Orville Fitzgerald of Truro.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Elisa May.
